Not being an excellent driver, it is sometimes uneasy to tell if the car is well balanced or not. At our last chapterÈs drivers school in SANAIR, I had Joe Marko from HMS Motorsport as an instructor. He is Bimmer Across the BOrder event chairman and I was SANAIR2 event chairman. I guess it was intended to have us together. Anyway, he found my E30 323i pefectly balanced and even though I expressed my idea of installing Eibach M3 Race Spring, he discouraged e from doing it as the car was perfect like it was.
As suspension set-up is often a question on this board, I wanted to share how my car is done.
Springs are from Hartge, they are a tad softer and higher than Eibach. Bilstein Sport shocks. K-Mac urethan adjustable camberplates adjusted to full camber. Suspension Techniques swaybars, front is hollow. Front and rear stressbars. Tires where TOYO RA-! in 225.50.15 on ACT LS 15 x 7.5 with ET25. An ET of 20mm would have been better. It doesn’t rub the fender lipses even though they are not rolled, but on the rear inner fender it rubs a bit on full compression.
By the way, the drivers school was a blast, we used the track in 3 different configurations and some instructors even prefered that track to Lime Rock Park. It was our last event of the year, but we will go to Mosport in Sept. 8-10 and NHIS in late October for the Club Race and schools set-up by Boston Chapter and Genesse valley.
