The 86 325 is a great car. The 325 has the ETA engine, which has about 121hp and 135 torque. It is a low rev engine and has great gas mileage. Most people will say try to go with an 325I or 325IS (89-91) but... the ETA Engine's are very reaiable if taken care of. The 86 isn't a bad year. Make sure the car has been taking care of and make 100% sure that the timing belt has been changed every 35k miles. Maitenice is the most important thing to the E30s.

Hope this helps.
