No, Sorry, my mistake. I did find the batteries hidden under the base of the cluster. On the older E28s the batteries are in the rear of the cluster. My 1987 was the same as the E30, but the batteries were still good in it. My Euro 525i has the old style of cluster. Thanks for the help, I will be repairing my cluster tomorrow.
