I have noticed alot of people asking about this mod after I posted the pic of my car so I decided to Make it a post of it's own. I will not say this is the right way to do it but I drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the shocks(caution they are under pressure and blow oil when punctured) then used a rubber mallet to put them where I wanted. I did this procedure on my E21 with great results. After drilling the hole to release the pressure, position the bumper where you want it. Then drill another hole large enough to put a bolt through and add a nut at the other end. This will keep the bumper in place. Do a seach for this procedure on the E21 message board. We BimmerHeads have been doing this for awile.
:)
