I had a similar problem in my '85 325e. Fuses good bulbs good, no light. It happened when I put some of those 50 watt back up lights too. It turned out to be a really simple problem so I felt really silly how long I put off fixing it. One of the wires popped off. It is difficult to plug the wire back in so I would dread actually replacing the switch. The switch is very stout, (silly me I got a new one before I even looked at it). Anyway, I doubt if your switch is bad. Check the wires closely, wiggle them around. The switch is located on the transmission on the passenger side way up at the top where you can just get a hand in there. It took me 20 minutes to put the wire back on. Those 50 watt lights work great now.Chris
What is involved in changing the reverse light switch on my '86 325e with manual 5-speed? I've checked the bulbs and fuses so I'm assuming it's the switch. Any troubleshooting tips or help with this would be appreciated.
