87 325 rough starts.... then runs absolutly fine?? (archive)

This should be easy to diagnos. This happens 100% of the time, warm or cold. Very rough starts, revs and then almost stalls and diesels for a couple of seconds, and then will balance and idle and drive fine.

It would almost seem like a sensor is not giving a proper reading and the motronic is confused. (new ECU by the way)
I dont suspect the cold start valve because it happens when warm also.

It almost seems flooded. I have not yet checked compression, but as mentioned the car runs fine at idle after just the initial rough start.

So far stumped, (Bently manual due in mail this week)
