regarding the best all seasonal tire--there is no such thing. well maybe there is, but all seasonal tires are always a compromise. all seasonal tires do not handle as good as a good wet/dry tire (summer tire) in the dry or in the rain. and, while they may be a bit better in the snow, all seasonal tires are still relatively poor performers in the snow. the best arrangement is to buy two sets of tires: snow tires and summer tires. the only downside is that you need to change tires twice yearly and the tread life on most good summer tires is less than that on all seasonal tires (though thats one reason why summer tires outperform all seasonal tires in nearly every road condition. moreover, unless you live in an area where there is constantly snow on the ground during the winter, you probably do not need snow tires. I live in Chicago and over the past few winters there have only been about 2-3 days per winter where I could not drive because of the snow and I was without snow tires. I simply used public transportation on those days.
