First thing to look for is vacuum leaks. A small leak can cause your car to idle soo low it will baredly run. As for the timing, your distributor cap is mounted directly to your head so you can't rotatate it to adjust the time. One more thing, when you disconnect the battery, or certain fuses for a period of time, your car will relearn mixtures and ect..which will cause the car to idle rough or even stall for an hour or so.

new timing belt and a 288 cam

I just installed intake on my car, but the rough idle was there before...the originial owner said he had the timing belt changed, but he didnt have the car re-timed...any solutions?
