I've always dreamed of building an electric car out of a small production car. Could the isetta be a contender? Plans before included a volkswagen beetle.

are those street legal in the US? I've always wanted one... never seen one in person though :-(

i'm pretty sure they are street legal as historic cars. they usually go for 3-5k depending on year and model. in fact there is an older one being auctioned there right now!
