In Reply to: Cleaned ICV valve .. now my idle is 1000rpm?? posted by Don C on September 02, 2000 at 17:39:22:

It is for stabalization. There is a way to adjust it. You need an accurate way to measure RPM and a current meter. when the idle is at 850+/-50 rpm the current through the idle stabilizer is I think 460mA+/-10mA (manual trans) and 470+/-10mA (Auto trans). i can fax you the info if you need it. email me

I did get a lot of gunk out of there, must not have been done in a while. I cleaned the valve to see if that improved a rough start up condition. (so far start up seems better)

The idle when warm before I cleaned the valve was always soomth and around 650 to 750 rpm.

I understand the screw on the side of the valve will help with idle speed, but I didnt want to touch that w/o some opinions first.

(By the way, I have replaced the air filter recently, checked the AFM door for binidng, adjusted the valves and re gapped the plugs to specs. Fuel filter was replaced in January 00.)

TIA
