And if my wife ever gets back before I have to give the camera back I will post a follow up pic. It really came out good. Thanks guys for all your help.

Chris

ok... just wondering... didn't want someone's paint messed up... I know it did kinda weird things for me on my car right before I painted it... I rubbed it down with paint thinner to get it all clean before spraying, and it made the whole car sorta streaked looking.... but that was after I sanded the whole thing

And it worked just fine in addition to the heat gun and lots of elbow grease. I think you are mixing up paint remover with paint thinner. Paint remover will ruin your day. The thinner was just barely strong enough to soften the adhesive just a tiny bit. It actualy did not help much. The heat gun did a lot more. I rubbed it out and waxed it and it looks great. Thanks guys, I though I was going to have to spend all day on that.

Chris

ok... here's a thought... paint thinner thins paint... your car is not naturally white...

That pic was the aftermath of prying off the "e". Lots of weatherstripping like adhesive left over. Sould I use paint thinner to cut through this or something like a rubbing compound? I am off to floss of the 325 part now.

Chris

... removing the model numbers ("325e")? If so, use dental floss or fishing line to saw through the adhesive between the trunk lid and the numerals. Once the numerals are off the car, use mild paint cleaner/polish to clean off any remaining adhesive and smooth out the paint. On some cars, there might be a "325e" outline where the paint hasn't faded along with the rest; on a white car like yours, it's not apt to be noticeable.

Hope this helps.
