Slow down there Ove. Sounds like this car could be a lemon. No maintenance history, strangely low miles, an engine problem which he doesn't even know about. Eugkim I highly recommend you get a 325iX. All wheel drive (great in the snow), stronger engine both power and problem wise, and for $8300 you can get a mighty nice one.
I am not saying anything about whether or not this
car is a good buy. I just think that all E30s
work well in the winter with good tires.
The iX might sound like a smart choice in the
winter, but beware that they are not so easy to
drive as some people say. They accelerate well,
and have a nasty tendency of plowing straight
ahead in the corners if the driver is not able
to set the car up properly. I have seen this
happen to very skilled drivers too.
What limits your speed in the winter is how well
you can stop the car, and the iX does not stop
any better than a 318iS. This car has enough
traction for safe winter driving. You don't need
all the extra weight of that 4WD system.
