fair price for 91 325ix? (archive)

Considering buying a 91 325ix with 174k listed for $8995. Any thoughts? It's in mint shape--really tight--leather, 5spd, 2-dr, great stereo. It's through a wholesaler, so I don't think I can get the records, though I'll have my mechanic check it out. Any advice on what to watch out for? How much it'll run each year to maintain?
