The e30 325 is a very strong car. The engine is bulletproof and the chassis ans suspension are pretty easy to maintain. Get yourself a rustfree car with a proper maintenance history and it wll last for another 10 years.

'87 325iS

E30 325's are a great performance bargain. 91 was the last year of production. The 325is 2 door was outfitted the best with sport seats and front & rear spoilers. 5 speeds are faster and more reliable than automatic versions. 325is models were produced for the US market from 87-91. Find the cleanest rust free car you can find. Since the car's are 9 years old or more, a well maintained car with 150k is a better deal than a clam with 100k. Unless service records prove otherwise, expect that cars with 100k + will need control arms, tie rods,rear subframe bushings, and suspension work. Have a mecahnic check it out for other items like brakes, exhaust etc. and general overall condition. Above all make sure the timing belt is changed every 50-60k miles-- else you'll be buying a motor before you want to.
If they're rust free and well maintained, the cars will go the distance. We've got one customer with almost 400k on his with no engine rebuild. Goodluck!
