I just purchased a 92 325 conv. but the power top is not working? There is a piece that is broken under the package tray looks like it is the rod that would lift the cover. The top would retract until the cover had to lift and then it stops. I popped the motors down to let the top down now the motors won`t run. Does any one know how to synchronize the motors and get them working. I will replace the rod that is broken and hopefully get the top working

I have posed this same question on this board and elsewhere on the net....no one seems to know. I can tell you this much...once the motors have been dis-engaged..the sync is WAY off. There is a huge bmw dealership where I live and out of all their service techs, only one guy seems to know how to do this adjustment. I have yet to find even one independent mechanic who will even touch trying to calibrate the top sequence. I'd do the work on the top myself if I could just find some info on how to do it....so far no luck. Must be some big secret :). Big chunk of change later (spent at the dealer), both of my electric tops are working. If they die again later, I'm converting them to manual.
