Interior lights won't shut off (archive)

I Was scrolling through the forum one day and my mother told me the interior lights was on in the bimmer,I went out open the door sat down in the car and closed the door and the lights started flickering,,I heard a noise under the drivers side dash, sounded like a relay or something chattering..Has anyone out there ran in to this problem before..
I'd really appreciate any information..
