Going from a 95 GSR to a 91 318is (archive)

I currently own a 1995 Acura Integra GSR. I am in school right now, so my expenses from that, on top of my insurance hike due to a suspension because of too much speeding has forced me to sell my beloved GSR and opt for a older, cheaper car. I thought about a Toyota MR2, but i really want a 2 door coupe. A 91 318is caught my eye. I would appreciate any comments on this model, as i know nothing about Bimmers except a got smoked by a M3 once. I need a nice, reliable car. Any comments or recomendations on 318s, what to look out for when buying one, etc. will be greatly appriciated!
