I was inspecting my ICV to try and remedy a high idle... I was turning the screw to make adjustments and nothing happened. I pulled it off and found a plastic plug in the hose comming from the intake manifold before the throttle body. I took this plug out, started the engine and it instantly accelerated infinantly. Am i right in saying this plug should not be there and someone just used it as a quick fix on the ICV?

Dear friend,
Don't change a bunch of part like I did. I have the exact same problem which is a weel know problem for 83-87, 325e. I have taken the car to the dealer . They said change the ICV and the Control module, I did and got no result. I have also changed the Air fllow meter. I still have that problem and no cure. The last mechanic said it is an air and gas adjustment but I haven't taken it in yet. It idels from 800 to 1200. Please let me know if you make progress. Ahmad
