My car has the same problem. This has happened on several bmws that I know of with this glove box design. The latches are notorious for breaking. I bleave a used latch from a junk yard is about $15. Anyway don't do as I did and get mad a pry until it comes off. It will break the glove box. Below is a link to an artical on how to get the glove box open and the latch off. Good luck

Yesterday I bought a 325es and it has a 12 disc cd changer in the glove box. The glove box opened fine yesterday when I used the cd changer and put my sunglasses and proof of insurrance in it. Last night I locked the glove box when I went into my house. This morning it won't open. I have tried everything. Even when I turn the key to the lock position, there is no tension on the handle. Does anyone have any suggestions?


1) (don't get angry, just covering the bases) Try turning it to the unlock position.

2) use a screwdriver to undo the latch.
