I'd prefer a used short shift kit or a stock shift kit from a e36.

I put a short shift kit and LOVE IT in my '86 325es but be warned! if you have a vibration damper around the guibo, plan on many extra hours removing the exhaust, the driveshaft and guibo and the damper. What should have been a 4 hour job turned into a 8 day nightmare. If you plan to do this yourself, contact me and I'll share what I know.
