My daughters 88 325 just started having door lock problems.

When unlocking the drivers door with a key it unlocks the drivers door and the trunk but none of the other 3 doors. You can't even open the other three doors manually from inside.

I also tried unlocking from the trunk and get the same results. Driver side will unlock but none of the other doors. Also tried unlocking passenger door with a key and no luck.

Any suggestions?

I believe she may have engaged what BMW calls the "unlock inhibit" circuit. This can only be done with the master key and only undone with the master key. The unlock inhibit circuit prevents all other doors besides the drivers and trunk from being unlocked, even from the inside. This system was introduced to defend against theft, but is annoying. Try using the master key ( the larger one ) to unlock the car from the drivers side...see what happens.

We are using the master key. Actually it is the only key we have for it.
