If you want to start from an E30 shell, you can buy a good used 325 with a dead engine but with a perfectly straight shell for $1000. Swapping to a 3.2 M US spec engine will cost you $4000 for the engine and $2000 for the swap. A full custom rollcage is around $1000. Coil-over suspension will be another $1000. Plus $1200 for bigger brakes. Add to this a seat, steering wheel and fire instiguisher. Of course you need three sets of rims and tires. Total cost will be less than $13000.

With a stock M20 engine, budget goes down to $7000.

This would be for a Prepared car with M20 engine. M3 engine is Modified.

I am currently starting a winter project: E30 + M20 + rollcage + big brakes. For under $5000.

I hope to be running in Prepared

Goal is oulined already and budget limit is not yet determined and is a relative/general term anyway. If a figure had to be swagged, it would be between 25-30 for the car. I just need info source to ask questions.
