Dave,

I went through the same thing a few weeks ago. Rebuilt racks without labor are running $450 or so. I purchased mine used from this site:

http://www.used-vehicle-parts.com

for $160 including shipping, and they warranty it for one year. The job can be a pain, especially if you follow the Chilton's or Hayne's manuals instructions. I used the directions from this site instead, made a whole lot more sense:

http://www.koalamotorsport.com/tech/rack.html

Completed the job in a weekend (11 hours, but 5hrs of that was wasted on the steering spline and poor instructions). Get a tie rod fork ($10) as it fits perfectly between the rack and the steering knuckle and makes separating them a lot easier.

Good luck to you!
