Hey, that would've been cool. Unfortunately after Friday I didn't look at my computer until today. Where do you guys meet up? I would like to hook up with some others in San Diego for some cool drives. I went out through Julian up around Lake Cuyamaca and down through the canyons to Alpine this weekend. Borego Springs this next weekend? I'll bet at the next Auto-X at Qualcom maybe see ya there!

dan, feel free to join the 5er get together on sunday......just some bench racing and note comparing....beer , lunch, etc.......

Well, I've had the car for about a week now and I'm lovin it! I budgeted $1500 for fixes and upgrades into the purchase price and so far am very pleased with the results. I've been driving a modified 2002 or my wife's hopped up Rabbit covertible for the last couple of years and needed a change from a 4 cyl. The first thing I've done is go with a J. C. chip, K & N drop in filter, and Ansa cat back exhaust. I'm in San Diego so the Ansa should be fine and while they may not be the best they're good enough until I re-do the whole exhaust. Results: Car is much more fun to drive and seems to have some more torque down low while screaming strongly up to the new redline of 6900 rpms. SWEET! New tires, control arms and ball joints, and tie rods. I feel a little more secure a high speeds knowing these items are tip-top. Have ordered brake parts for this next weekends project. SS brake lines, Ate power discs for the front, rear discs are fine. Mintex Red Box brake pads all around. Should improve braking signifigantly, although brakes are decent to begin with. Then I start saving for the suspension! Is there any general consensus for the best road race suspension set-up? I'm thinking K-Macs front and rear, Eibach pro kit and Bilstein sports and Group N subframe mounts and Turners tuneable rear uppper strut mounts. Top it off with sway bar pick up point reinforcements and ST sway bars. Sound good? I think so!
