My seats are a pain in the ass (archive)

I've got two problems with both front seats in my 90 325i:

1) Both seats have a problem staying, the driver side will suddenly snap back every once in a while and the passenger side is in permanent sleep position. I have some safety concerns with this problem.

2) The driver side cushion squeaks like a bat out of hell...it truly sounds like the room above you on a Friday night at Motel 6 if you know what I mean...

Now, are these easy fixes (I'm guessing some WD-40 on the springs will fix the squeek), or should I treat myself to some aftermarket sport seats...does anyone know what are good seats without breaking the bank...I hear about Recaros, how much are those generally?
