I've got an extra one... but what I'd do if I were you (what I did for my car) is get 2 6 volt light bulbs from radio shack and solder them in. it is about a 30 minute job and only costs $1.50

Now I too know what that 'ding' is for although I wouldn't have seen the clock readout - the backlight needs replacing.
I noticed that you're from Vancouver. Do you have any idea where I can find used bimmer parts locally?
