Not just on bridges. It is set at just above freezing so when that temp is hit ice/black ice could be anywhere.

Basically don`t speed around when you here that gong -especially mornings or night time.

Now I too know what that 'ding' is for although I wouldn't have seen the clock readout - the backlight needs replacing.
I noticed that you're from Vancouver. Do you have any idea where I can find used bimmer parts locally?
