I have a 1987 325IC and my break check light on the overhead console always stays on. I've tried changing all the bulbs, changed out the bulb housing on the taillights, and changed the relay at the top of the break pedal. I am suspicious of the third break light which is mounted on the trunk. I took it apart today and there is a small electronic board about the size of a silver dollar (only square) and i'm wondering if this is the relay sender which tells wether the breaks are ok or not and then sends the signal back to the overhead console.

Does anyone know what the function of this electronic board is ?

Thanks for your help...
