Well $4,022.67 Canadian dollars later my car looks and drives like new. Here's what I've done. I'll post some pics soon. My car is a 1991 318ic (M42), red on black/black. It now has 96,000 kms, and has a LSD and 5 spd transmission. I bought the car last summer for 12,000 cdn. I guess since I've put 4,000.00 into it I really paid 16,000 but it's in great shape, I only wish I had some pics for you all... I can't say enough about proper maintenance, now that EVERYTHING is fixed it's really like new. It's always been kept in a garage, so the finish is perfect, not one dimple or scratch, with a mirror shine. Also it only snows 2-3 times a year here in Vancouver BC. I'm now the third owner, and I was given all the service records when I bought it, the only things that were done was normal maintenance, new tires and head gasket, and new top due to vandals. Well I just thought I share this info incase anyone was interested. new control arms
new control arm bushings
diff side seals and new oil
new brake pads front and rear
new rotors front and rear
new pad sensors
new stabilizer links
air filter
spark plugs
oil change
coolant flush
new fluid for brakes and transmission
balanced and rotated wheels
wheel alignment
new belts and hoses
new battery
new fuel filter
new muffler
intake valve injector kit
shifter shaft rear bracket
replaced upper and lower oil pan gasket
replaced front crank seal
power steering fluid
temp sensor
two new dash bulbs (heater controls)
rubber seals for convertible top
new drivers door lock cylinder
new storage lid shocks (seal coming soon)
new cd player and two new rear speakers.
professional detailing 3 stage wax and convertible top treatment
and finally new wiper blades!
This was all done within a 3 month period, and now the car drives like new, really tight steering, excellent stopping, great fuel economy, and very smooth running with really decent performance.
Loving my car
Mike
