Normally the car has to be taken to a dealership to have the SRS light reset. The SRS computer detected a fault in the system, and when that light stays on, the airbag system is disabled until it is reset. Airbags are not fun when it comes to fixing them, but they are worth it, as an airbag saved my life when I was involved in an accident. Don't pull the plug, get it fixed. My two cents worth :-)
