Bryan,
You can remove the lower trim panel (under the steering wheel, where your knees are) and get at it under the dash. It can be a bit of a pain, but I did it that way. As a side note, it wasn't a burnt out bulb that was my problem, but rather a bad connection at the sending unit under the rear seat. to fix that yooou just pull the rear seat out, open the commpartment thats circular shaped, and clean the connection with some Radio Shack Connection cleaner.

Is there an easier way than pulling the steering wheel and disabling the airbag? If so please tell. Also did any models come without this option?
