I know my odometer isn't original and it's equivalent of being rolled back I guess. My car had 220K miles on it when I bought it with a broken timing belt. I put almost every new mechanical part out of a rolled car with 90K miles on it. I don't think it's illegal if you don't hide what happened. I'd willingly tell anyone I sell the car to what happened.

maybe that car is in a similar situation. couldn't hurt to confront and ask... could be a bargining chip to get the car REALLY cheap.

Found an 89 325i with 81k miles on it. Looked perfect! Add was selling it for $6500, but price tag on car said $4995. Well I was a lil skeptical, went o carfax. ocm rana VIN check and it was clear, but then decided to run a clean vehicle history report and found trouble. @ one point the car was reported with 173k miles, and was resold with only 79k miles a year later. Had over 90k miles rolledback on the odometer. Man am I glad I ran that clean vehicle history report!!!!

Has this happened to anyone else?
Should I report this to anyone?
