My daughter has a '88 325 4-door. A couple months ago she locked her doors via the drivers door key lock (90 deg to anti-theft). When she went to unlock only the drivers door and trunk would unlock. The rest of the doors stayed locked (anti-theft mode so could not even open from inside). When unlocking with the key in drivers door you could hear the click in all the doors but it would not unlock. Also tried unlocking from trunk and passenger with no luck. It continued like this for a few days and then one morning she unlocked the door as usual and they all opened up.
Everything continued to work fine until a week ago when she went to unlock the drivers door and everything un-locked except the front right passenger door. This door currently is still in anti-theft lock down and we can not open it with the key or from the inside. All of the other doors are working fine.
I am assuming the two problems are not related but am not sure. I thought possibly replacing the Central Locking Unit my solve the issue but after looking at the Bently manual electrical schematic it appears if there was something wrong with the CLU it should be effecting all of the doors not just the one.
The other possibilities are wiring problem or door lock motor in that door.
The other problem is I can't open the door to check these things out - any guesses as to what could be causing this and how I can get the door open to fix it?
One other thing I should add which might cause an issue. Since we bought the vehicle (just a few months ago) the keyless/alarm has not worked and I haven't really looked at it yet. Could this be causing havoc with the door locking?
