I have recently found a running 1984 318i with Automatic and about 90,000 acutal miles on it, however it has some rust , not real bad and is in need of paint, also has a stalling problem and looks like the wiring has been tampered with. Interior is fair.The owner is asking 400$ for this. Is this a fair price?, i like BMW's and like working on them and this looks like a good project. I just want to make sure what the going price is for this one.

The Blue Book for an '85 318i is 3 thousand. With what you've described, and only 90,000 miles I'd take it. It's sounds like it'd be a great buy.
