I think what he was wanting to do that for was to be able to use 5 lug rims. I think that a 318ti suspension setup could be used to do that if anything could be used. I'll go take a peek under my e28 and see how it's setup ;-)

Unfortunately, the E28 suspension will not fit onto an E30. Completely different suspension setup.

I know our friendly pals (sorry, sarcasm there) at Zionsville Autosport have installed an E36 front suspension onto an E30, though. I'm not sure if it's a bolt-on deal or not, but it sure looks close from what I've seen. Out back, Z3 suspension was used. Again, I've never done this myself, so I cannot guarantee it's a simple bolt-on procedure.

Your E30 suspension is quite capable, with modifications. Check out places like Turner, BavAuto, HMS, etc. for details.
