My 88 325ic has a faulty circuit with the brake-lights check-light on the overhead panel. The check light blinks when the car is turned on and does not go out when I hit the brake pedal. I changed all 3 bulbs with new bmw bulbs, inspected for corrosion, and checked the groundpoint. Everything looks fine. Could there be a problem with the rear-lights relay? Also, is there a way to fake-out the system by grounding out some wires like you can with the brake sensors? I've been studying the wiring diagram in the Bentley, but can't tell how this circuit detects the fault in terms of an open switch.

Thanks for any help since this is becoming annoying.
