It's very easy, but the light assemblies themselves, even used ones, can be expensive, usually around $300. The least "destructive" method of wiring the new lights is to crimp male spade connectors onto the opposite ends of the transplanted wires and simply plug them into your existing socket. That way nothing original was 'modified' and uninstall/install is simple. The colors of the wires match up fairly close too if I remember correctly.
