It usually takes about 5.25 quarts to fill up both by '91 and '92 318s. That cartridge filter hold alot of oil. If I don't change the filter, 4.5 quarts does the trick. Why everyone says it takes about 4.4 quarts to change the oil AND filter, I don't know. There must be a misprint somewhere.!?!
