I'm looking at a car that the owner says has a trip meter that reads only German. Says it's no big deal, just needs to be reprogrammed. Is this true, or cause to knock off a few bucks from selling price?

with ign. on depress "AVG MPG" and release then with a pin/paper clip depress the reset switch in the lower right corner of the OBC and keep scrolling the reset switch till you get to MPG

Thank you for the tip. So it is really no big deal, eh? (Nothing to worry about?)
