You should be able to look thru the oil filler hole and see if they are standard (Hex-head) bolts. You should really replace any standard hex-head bolts with the "new" Torx head bolts (the head looks like star- sort of). The bolts are "torque to yield" which means that they stretch a bit as you apply proper torque and they should NOT be re-used. You should be able to get a new set for about $25-30. You can easily replace all of your head bolts in less than an hour- do it one at a time and follow the torque sequence in the Bentley manual. Do it ASAP if you have the "old" bolts, I've heard many stories of the bolt heads popping off and doing all sorts of damage to the head.Good Luck,

Can anyone tell me how to tell if the stretch bolts on the car I am looking at have been replaced with the non-stretch type (I see a "vambus 12.9" stamping on them)
Are stretch bolts such a big deal or can I leave them in the head and run with it?
