You might try unclogging it first and see if there is still water there. I have heard of people having problems with the drain tubes backing up, and putting water where it shouldn't be. You might just try running some hot water through the drain tube to see if that will clear it up.

I have a waterleak for sometime coming into '89 325i, from what it seems to be behind the evap coil case.
I have to been able to verify it, but someone else told me about the drain tube which is right on the firewall, and when I checked it was completely clogged.

Now, I have not ran any water to see if unclogging the drain did the trick, but has anyone ever come across this particular problem?
