hi,i own an e reg 316, i paid �700 for it last november it has a sweet engine and the bodywork was solid although a bit
tatty so i laid out another �600 for a complete re-spray and the idea was to lower it 17" wheels blah blah blah.
On thursday a scaffold lorry decided that it was going to turn right wether we where there or not,the resulting bang caved in the passenger door,rear quarter,centre post and cill.I am fully expecting it to be written off now but could really do with some advice as to the actual worth of a good condition 316 so i am a bit pre-armed for when the insurance company offer me a figure i'm not expecting a great deal but seeing as the accident wasn't my fault i don't want to lose out completely,if anyone reads this and can offer any advice it would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance!!

the insurance company might only give you what the cars is worth+ anything you added to it should be considered by the adjuster.make sure its a good well known insurance company.if you have any doubts check with other insurance companies,or with a used car dealer that may ba able to give you a black,blue value cost.you may also file a civil suit if you paid more for the car then what its really worth,also inconveniences you may have from not having a car,and of course how do you feel? were you hurt by any of this? did you have to go to the doctor? you should have to pay for any of these things.how bad is the car? maybe it can be fixed? all up to the adjuster.
