They can make decent track cars, but I feel the iX understeers excessively for autoX. Of course, if you can get into SNOW racing, that's a different story altogether...

(On top of rear driver 325i concerns) be a little easy on dumping the clutch, make sure the transfer case has (fresh) fluid with no leaks, the chain is sound, and the front shaft splines (the ones that mesh with the transfer case) stay lubed, and you should be fairly safe.

I just purchased a 88 325IX 4 days ago and i'm extreamly interested in finding out how far I can go with performance modifications before I hit the drivetrains limitations. Is anybody using their IX on the track or autocrossing their car at club events? I'm in the initial process of learning all I can about my car. Any assistance is very much appricated!
