Don't remove the bolts from the driveshaft. Try to push it gently forward by rocking it and it should move about an inch - plenty of room to get the driveshaft bolts out of the diff holes. You can also pry it forward with a large srewdriver for leverage. If you think it's fun removing it, wait till you try to reinstall it.

BTW, I hope the seal that is leaking is not one of the ones that attaches to a drive axle. If it is, you don't have to remove the diff to replace it. Just detach the axle and pry the sucker off with a screwdriver, with the diff in place. Replace the seal and attach the drive axle.

Good luck.

put a jack under it, take all the bolts out of the d/shaft and the 4 out of the top of the diff. lower it a bit and pull, it will come out, be alittle rough, your not gunna hurt anything

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I took the nuts off the bolts on the d/shaft, but the bolts don't seem to want to come off. I was asking if the bolts came off (and mine are just rusted on or something) or if the driveshaft itself is suppose to move back the cm needed to get the bolts clear of the diff input flange. I guess (from this and another answer) that the bolts do not come off, the driveshaft does not push forward, we just balance the diff on the jack and hope it doesn't topple. Ok, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks.
