Back in August, my dealer invited me to one of the infamous "M Nights", where every M model made plus the Z8 are present for oggling. But the bigest reason for more of the show goers was a Silver M3, right in the middle of the showroom. When I pulled up, I was met with quite a few stares in my 91 325is. I went in, was greeted with champagne and some finger food, and mingled with a few enthusiasts. While I was in there, I was noticing just how many of these people drove some exotic pieces of machinery. I saw multiple 996's, a few 993's, a whole boatload of AMG's, E36 M3's, E39 M5's, and even a NSX. Sure, these are popular in Silicon Valley, but in Toronto, nah. When it was my turn to leave, they valeted my car out, sparkling clean. I couldn't believe how many people stopped in their tracks and STARED at my car. One E55 owner came and commended me on my car when I was about to drive off. Of course, I drove off with a little tire smoke coming from the back. :) Guess it goes to show that the classic Bimmers are the best!
Im from TO, and no offence, but an old style bimmer is not causing any kind of crowd. The other cars you mentioned maybe, but an 80's 3series, sorry dood, no dice.
