there are several temp switches. the main one that goes bad is the coolant reservoir temp sensor - but there are also 2 engine temp sensors on top of the block where the thermostat is.. two are engine temp and one is thermo time sensor.. they are up front in front of the injectors on top of the block directly behind the cap/rotor...

if you have a haynes/bentley manual compare the ohm meter readings (if any) to the recommended ones in the manual - if you don't have it I can look it up for you...

Thanks for the reply, I'll be getting my bently manual with the next few days. I'm hopping it will the temp. sensor so it will much easier to replace rather than the gauge.
