i may be buying a white 2 door 89 325is 5 speed soon. I will check it out myself, then have a shop check it afterwards. The prob is, i know the prepurchase inspection will have a compression and leak-down test for valves, but no timing belt check. the car has about 120000 miles, and i believe that it may be time for the (second?) change. I am thinking the previous owner doesn't want to spend the money on the belt. How much does it cost if a dealer were to replace the timing belt? thanks for your help!
