when i bought my car it had yellow and blue shocks and struts. i was wondering if they were stock or not. they were bilstines.

The factory BMW shocks are BOGE(bo-gee). An otherwise excellent shock- which is probably why you were impressed at the handling of the e30 in the first place.
I think the is came stock with bilsteins, my es did.
