My journey into the profile gasket continues....

Today was another long day, but I almost made it down to the head. I have to regroup and get some more tools. The exhaust manifold bolts were really trying my patience. The air wrench stripped the last bolt (isn't that always the case). Now I have to get back under there and cut or grind that bolt out.

The cylinder head bolts require an E12 Torx and of course my E12 Torx was too big to fit past the valves. I grinded it down and it broke. Time for a new Torx or, if BMW has one, a special Torx.

Once i get these last few bolts off, I will have access to the infamous profile gasket, i will post some pics of this thing when i get to it. Hopefully installation will be a little smoother.

Time for some rest and a beer, later

-scott
