o2 sensor questions (archive)

I have a '85 325e with a slight hesitation. Isolated the o2 sensor as the culprit. Of course, when I removed the old sensor the threads disintegrated (regardless of the fact that I heated and tapped the old bugger).

I am in the process of using the '90 mustang swap trick. A couple of questions:

1. Is the hole in the cat 3/4" fine thread?
2. Where can I find a tool to chase the threads in the cat prior to fitting the new sensor?
3. Any advise regarding the best way to splice the wires for the e30 plug?
